SUMMARY:2013 American Centers for Culture Exchange (ACCEX) Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Tai Initiative will participate in the ACCEX meeting in Shanghai from June 17-19\, 2013. \nJack Wang (L) and Carson Tavenner (R) visit the American Center for Cultural Exchange at Sichuan University\, Chengdu\, in March 2012. \nThis event brings together the American and Chinese directors of the 19 American Centers for Cultural Exchange currently established at Chinese universities.  These centers\, and their directors\, are roughly similar in purpose and structure to the Confucius Institutes currently established around the world. \nBy attending this conference\, we will expand our network of leadership contacts among the American/Chinese relations civil and cultural sectors.  We also intend to inform other participants of their growing opportunities to connect with leaders who normally reside beyond the typical lines of ACCEX communication in the American/Chinese subnational relationship.
